A passion rooted in life experiences
I grew up watching my mom and grandma prepare dinner every day. Someone was always cleaning vegetables at the table or in front of the stove, defusing the smell of garlic and olive oil throughout the house. My interest in food began in 2016 when my mom was diagnosed with Leukemia. I became very involved with her health and well-being. I wanted to help. I wanted to know why she developed cancer. I wanted to regain some control over our lives and help others avoid similar circumstances. I studied diet, exercise, and lifestyle in order to understand the root causes of disease. I concluded we have more control over our health than we think. The standard American diet is calorie-dense, nutrient sparse, heavily processed, and genetically modified. If we want to regain health and prevent disease, it starts with the food we use to fuel our bodies. I started Cast Iron Kitchen meal prep co. to make eating healthfully easier and more convenient. Our meals are fresh, whole food based, minimally processed, nutrient-dense, and free of dyes, fillers, preservatives, or added sugar.
